TLC Toddler Programs

Cuddle Bugs & Tender Time

They are not babies anymore, and they will be the first to tell you that! But they're not quite preschoolers - they're toddlers!

Toddlers are quickly becoming more mobile, autonomous, social, and thoughtful. They can sometimes be assertive and independent, yet other times passive and very dependent. In a group setting at The Learning Center, our teachers accommodate and support the "do it myself" ways of toddlers.

Our staff is patient, sensitive, and understanding to a toddler's point of view. The environment is developed to be a captivating, interesting place that continually holds a toddler's attention with individual and small group experiences.

The Learning Center uses the Frog Street curriculum for your child's academic curriculum and a Bible based curriculum for their Christian education. We separate our toddlers into two different groups: Cuddle Bugs and Tender Time. Our Cuddle Bug group is comprised of children that are just becoming secure with their walking skills. Our Tender Time Tots are 18 months to 2 years of age in September of the enrollment year.

Cuddle Bugs

Class size is limited to 8 children and 2 full-time teachers.

Our Bible curriculum is implemented daily, through stories, activities, verses and songs. Also used daily is our academic curriculum, Frog Street. Frog Street offers an entire family of early childhood programs that presents program continuity from birth to pre-K. This is research-based curriculum that is designed for individualized learning. Each child's individualized learning plan is incorporated into a group lesson plan designed to meet each child's developmental needs. Our activities are play-based, intentional activities that are focused around the four developmental domains: Physical, Cognitive, Language and Social Emotional Development.

Our teachers will communicate with you daily and provide a daily report describing your child's mood, activity, eating, and toileting behavior. Our children will take a 2-hour nap. Weather permitting, children have scheduled outdoor time in the morning and afternoon.
